DEC Brownfields: Site Nomination Form
  • DEC Brownfields: Site Nomination Form

  • In 2025, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded a Community-Wide Assessment Grant for States and Tribes (CWAGST) to the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC).

Through this grant, DEC can provide assessment services, including ASTM Phase I and II environmental site assessments (ESAs), hazardous building materials (HBM) surveys, and cleanup planning, to communities across the state.

If a brownfield property in your community could benefit from a site assessment or cleanup planning, please complete the site nomination form below. DEC will work with you to determine whether the project is eligible and within the grant’s scope and our capacity to assist.

Note that cleanup activities are unfortunately not eligible under this grant; however, DEC may be able to provide such services using other resources. Contact the DEC Brownfields Team at the email below if you are interested in learning more about DEC’s cleanup services.

If you have any questions or are unable to submit a site nomination form electronically, please email us.
